How to Determine Your Kibbe Body Type

This post is now outdated. For a newer version of the test, check out my 2020 version.

The Kibbe Body Types are a series of 13 body types, which are broken down into 5 families: romantics, classics, dramatics, naturals, and gamines. If you want to learn more about these types, check out my post An Overview of the Kibbe Body Types.

What I like about the Kibbe body types is that the clothing, makeup, and hair suggestions for each type aren’t trying to ‘correct’ things like in other body typing systems. Instead the suggestions are lines and silhouettes that coordinate with your body.

If you’re interested in this system, this post is a small test that will let you figure out your Kibbe body type. This test is largely based off of the one from Kibbe’s book Metamorphosis, but I have made a couple of changes for clarity’s sake.

To start, you need to be able to analyze your own body. If possible, take a picture of yourself in a swimsuit or underwear, and make sure that you’re standing straight, and that the camera is neither too high nor too low (around chest-level works well).

If you’re not comfortable taking a picture of yourself, then you can use a mirror for this test. I slightly prefer a mirror myself, since sometimes a camera’s lens can cause distortion, and it can be difficult to take a picture of oneself without anyone else helping.

Now that you’ve seen your body, it’s time to start the test.

Make sure you have a piece of paper where you can write down your answers to each question. Also, please make sure that you write down which section each answer is for! Even better is if you can write down which question each answer is for, but I understand if you’re not comfortable doing that.

For example, something like this will work well:
Bone Structure: 3B 1A
Flesh: 4D 1B
Facial Features: 2D 2E 2B

Instead of this:
1A 6B 6D 2E

That way, if you need help figuring out what your body type is, I can help you more easily. It will also help you figure things out if you’re confused between two or more body types.

Also, please choose the answer that best describes your body. Our bodies are more on a spectrum than in discreet shapes, so not every answer will fit perfectly, especially if you’re young and your body is still changing.

First we’ll start with the overall bone structure.

Overall Bone Structure.

1. How long is your vertical line?

Another way to ask is this, is how tall do you look? If you have a small head compared to your shoulders, you will look taller. If you have a large head compared to your shoulders, you will look shorter.

My vertical line is:

A) Long (I look taller than I actually am)
B) Moderately long (I look like I’m slightly taller than I actually am, but not by very much)
C) Moderate (I look to be my actual height)
D) Smallish (I look slightly shorter than my actual height)
E) Petite (I look shorter than I actually am)

2. What’s the shape of your shoulders?

Be careful about your posture when answering this question, as slouching can change the silhouette of your shoulders.

My shoulders are:

A) Sharp, narrow
B) Blunt, broad
C) Moderate, even
D) Sloped, tapered (can be a bit sharp, but still sloped)
E) Sloped, rounded

3. How long do your arms and legs look in comparison to your body?

This is in proportion to your body, specifically your torso. Even if you’re short, you can still have long legs or arms compared to your torso, and vice versa. If you’re not sure how to check this, just put your arms to the sides of your body, and see how far down your thigh your fingertips end.

Answer C will end at about the halfway length of your thighs, so if you have shorter arms, you’re answer E or D, if you have longer arms, you’re answer A or B.

Make sure to relax your arms while doing this, as stretching them out will make them seem longer than they are.

My arms and legs are:

A) Elongated, narrow
B) Elongated, broad
C) Moderate, even in proportion to my height and torso
D) Small, slightly short
E) Small, very short in proportion to my height and torso

4. What are the size and shape of your hands and feet in comparison to the rest of your body?

My hands and feet are:

A) Long, narrow
B) Large, broad
C) Moderate, neither very large nor very small
D) Small, narrow, delicate
E) Small, slightly wide

Next we have the flesh on your body. Please note, that body fat doesn’t effect this answer. This is about the overall look of your flesh, your skin and muscles.

As an example as to why: some people have very soft and puffy cheeks, even when underweight. Other people have very tight skin on their cheekbones, even when overweight.

If you’re still curious about this, here’s a video that explains why body fat doesn’t effect your Kibbe body type. It’s by Merriam Style, one of my favorite ‘Kibbe Body Types’ YouTubers, and she has wonderful content that analyzes all the different body types.

Flesh on the Body.

5. What’s the overall shape of your body?

This question takes into account both how your torso, waist, and hips look, and also the general look of your arms and legs. We’ll be getting into some specifics soon though, so if you’re confused by this question, try returning to it after doing the next few questions.

The overall shape of my body is:

A) Long, lean, dry
B) Broad, tending toward muscular
C) Moderate, even
D) Shapely, a delicate hourglass
E) Very soft, lushly curved, a ripe hourglass

6. What’s the shape of your bust line, or upper torso?

This question refers to the shape of the bust, and also includes some descriptions for gaining weight, since some body types gain flesh here easily. The actual cup size of your bra doesn’t matter here, since the bust line is relative to the shape of your body.

The overall shape of my bust line is:

A) Flat, taut (I never seem to add flesh here, even when overweight)
B) Wide, broad (I add a little flesh here when overweight, but not very much)
C) Moderate, in even proportion to my waist and hips
D) Shapely, curved, more prominent then my waistline (I tend to add flesh here when overweight)
E) Very prominent (whether I’m thin or heavy, I’m always busty)

7. What’s the shape of your waistline?

Again, this question is in proportion to the bust and hips.

The overall shape of my waistline is:

A) Elongated, but boyishly tapered (even when overweight)
B) Elongated, but broad
C) Moderate, slightly defined
D) Very small in proportion to my bust and hips
E) Softly defined, but tends to be slightly wide

8. What’s the overall shape of your hips?

Like the last two questions, this question is in proportion to the rest of your body.

The overall shape of my hips is:

A) Tapered, straight, narrow (but I do thicken here when overweight)
B) Straight, slightly tapered, and slightly wide (weight collects on the hips)
C) Moderate, in even proportion to my bust and waist
D) Shapely and rounded, more pronounced then my waistline
E) Extremely soft and rounded (whatever my weight is)

9. What best describes the flesh on your upper arms and thighs?

One good way to test this is to feel the flesh on your upper arms and thighs. I work out almost every day and I’m very thin, but my flesh is still squishy and soft, therefore I have answer D flesh.

The flesh on my upper arms and thighs are:

A) Long, slender, sinewy
B) Elongated, tending towards muscular
C) Moderate
D) Soft, slightly short
E) Very soft, slightly wide and fleshy

Now we have the facial features. Make sure that you aren’t wearing heavy makeup that would interfere with seeing the shape of facial features, such as contouring, or overly lined lips.

Facial Features.

10. What’s the shape of your jawline?

My jawline is:

A) Sharp, either very pointed or very square
B) Broad, blunt, slightly wide
C) Moderate, neither wide, sharp, nor rounded
D) Delicate, tapered, or slightly narrow
E) Rounded or softly wide

11. What’s the shape of your nose?

In the picture below, it may be a bit difficult to see the difference between the B option and the E option. That’s because the difference is in the bridge of the nose. B noses that broad and wide bridges, E noses have smaller and rounder bridges.

My nose is:

A) Sharp or prominent
B) Broad or blunt, on the large side
C) Moderate (not very large or small, not very rounded or sharp)
D) Delicate, tapered, narrow
E) Rounded or softly wide

12. What’s the shape of your cheekbones?

Ignore the flesh of your cheeks and look just at the shape of your cheekbones for this question. You may need to feel the bones to get your answer, especially if you have very full flesh.

My cheekbones are:

A) High and prominent
B) Wide
C) Moderate
D) Delicate, narrow, and slightly rounded
E) Rounded

13. What’s the shape of your eyes?

My eyes are:

A) Narrow, straight, closely spaced
B) Narrow, straight, widely spaced
C) Evenly spaced, moderately sized
D) Rounded or upturned, slightly close together
E) Very round and very large

14. What’s the shape of your lips?

My lips are:

A) Straight, narrow (possibly described as thin lips)
B) Straight, strong, broad (but not full)
C) Moderate, even (not very straight, but not very full)
D) Slightly full and rounded
E) Very full and very rounded

15. What best describes the flesh on your cheekbones?

Remember, this isn’t the bone itself, but the skin and muscle that covers it.

My cheeks are:

A) Flat and taut (and tend to stay tight when overweight)
B) Fairly tight or muscular, but I tend to get a bit puffy when I put on weight
C) Moderate, slightly soft
D) Soft and fleshy (gets very full with excess weight)
E) Very round and fleshy (stays round and fleshy even when thin or underweight)

Normally there is also a question about hair texture and curliness, but since hair can be manipulated so easily with curlers, straight irons, extensions, etc. I prefer to disregard this question.

Now let’s move on to the results, on the next page!

  1. Hi Rebekah!
I love this body type classification!! It takes into account everything. But I am a little frustrates because I don’t seem to find my type. I am a thin, petite woman (US 5 1/2 shoe size. XS. 5’2″), with a softer face. I got a lot of Cs so maybe I am a classic but I feel like I have quite a contrast between my body and face, so maybe I am a Gamine. Please help me. Here are my results:
    Bone Structure 1B, 2C, 1A
Flesh on the body 3C, 2A
    Facial Features 2C 2E 2D

    1. Thanks for commenting with your results, Maria! Based on them I’d say you’re a classic. I’m a dramatic classic, and I also have some contrast between between my face and body (I have very round cheeks and round nose). However, I’ll give you the links to both my classic and gamine Pinterest boards, so you take a look and see which lines you prefer.

      C –
      G –

  2. Hi Rebekah, I hope your surgery went well! If you are primarily C, but with some A in the flesh, but some D in the facial, what does that do, do you think? It’s like a soft classic face on a dramatic classic body – does that average out to regular Classic, or does one take precedence? Thanks:)

    1. Thank you, Helena!

I think it would depend on how many A and D answers there are. I have a couple of D answers in my face, but have enough A answers elsewhere to have the balance be that of a dramatic classic. However if they’re completely balanced, I’d say it evens out to classic.

  3. Hi Rebekah,
I’m so confused; I’ve taken the test a few times both on my own and with the help of two others and each time the results are different with one similarity – I’m always in the soft sub-type and have a Yang bone structure. These are my answers for my most recent testing (I also feel like this I was the most objective too):
    Bone Structure: 3A, 1B
    Flesh: 1A, 2B, 1C, 1E
    Facial Features: 2C, 2D, 2E
…Also here are some of my body stats:
    My height is 167cm o 5’6″
My bra size is a 34FF (UK) but I can also comfortably fit into a 32 band
I wear a UK size 10 in clothes
I wear a UK size 6 shoe (my feet are wide but my hands are narrow?)
Could you please help me figure out my Kibbe type because I’m a completely clueless.

  4. Hey Rebekah – I see you’re taking a break for surgery, and I hope it went well! I have been confused about my body type since…forever! I am desperate. My results are as follows:
    1C, 2C, 3E, 4D
    5C, 6B, 7C, 8D, 9D
    10E, 11E, 12E, 13E, 14C, 15E.
I think I am confused because the quiz does not have an answer for mostly Es and Cs! I’ve been told I am a gamine because I look so young and small, but now I am not so sure. Your assistance is infinitely appreciated!

      1. I’m confused. I got a three way tie of C,D, and E (4 points to each). With 1 A and 2 B… I’ve no idea what that makes me.

  5. Hi Rebekah! Thank you for taking the time to help everyone. I hope you’re doing well after your procedure. Could you help me figure out what my type is?

    Bones structure : 2B 2C
    Flesh: 3C 1D 1E
    Facial structure: 2B 3C 1D 1E

    So I got 4B 8C 2D 2E

    Thanks again!

  6. Hello! I hope you’re still responding to these comments. These are my results:
    Bone Structure: 3A 1B

    Flesh: 2B 3C

    Facial Features: 3A 1B 1C 1D

Due to the majority being A I thought I might be a dramatic of some type but I’m not too sure. I’m 5’8 just for reference if that helps. I hope your surgery went well!

  7. Dramatic classic, nice!
    2 A
    2 B
    9 C
    1 D
    1 E

Now I think my challenge is to find a way to put my personal style and kibbe together… And my hair, gosh!!! My hair is sooooo wild! 😂😂😂

  8. Hi Rebekah, I have recently found out about kibbe types and have watched quite a few videos. However, I am finding it difficult to find out my kibbe type. My body makes me think Im dramatic, but my face is a mixture of many types. I was wondering if you could help me out with finding my type.
    My test results are:
    bone structure: 1-a,2-b,3-c,4-a
    flesh: 5-a,6-a,7-a,8-a,9-a
    facial features: 10-d,11-a,12-d,13-c,14-a,15-c
    overall score: 9a, 1b, 3c, 2d

Would you consider me to be a dramatic or something else? Thank you very much for your time.

  9. Thank you for your instructive post.
For my body, I have 5xB and 4xC, but when it comes to my face, it’s an even mix of Cs and Ds. I wonder if I’m a Gamine or just Natural. My face doesn’t seem to fit my body structure.
Wishing you good health and a pleasant holiday season. Merry Christmas!

  10. Hi Rebekah, how are you? I hope you’re well
I feel a bit confused with my results, and I’m not sure how I’d type myself seeing the numbers.

    Bone Structure: 2C 2D
    Flesh: 1C, 2D, 2E
    Face: 1A, 2C, 2D, 1E

    Overall – 1A, 5C, 5D, 4E
That’s quite an even mix of letters! Based on the answer sheet I seem to fall into either Classic/Soft Classic or Romantic, but I think the numbers are a bit too close to make a decision. What do you think my type could be?

  11. Hello Rebekah,

I hope your surgery went well. I am sure it must have been very scary.
In terms of this body type quiz, would you believe it to be the most accurate? Every time I do it I seem to get different answers. Below are the answers I recently received upon retaking the quiz. I thought I was a theatrical romantic but upon further research I do not believe that is the case. I found some of the questions to be difficult. For example I have an “hourglass” shaped body in the way that my shoulders are the same width as my hips and my waist is very defined in comparison to my hips…however my bust is quite small. Also my legs are long for my size but my arms are on the smaller spectrum. Overall I am very confused haha, if you get the chance to clarify, I would love to hear your take. I hope you are doing well!

    Overall Bone Structure
    1. Vertical Line – C I look to be my natural height
    2. Shoulder Shape – B blunt, broad
    3. Arms and Leg Length – C moderate even proportion to my height (arms are shorter, legs are longer)
    4. Hands and Feet – D small and narrow
    Totals: 2C, 1B, 1D

    Body Flesh
    1. Overall Body Shape – C moderate
    2. Bust Shape – A flat and taut
    3. Waistline Shape – C moderate and slightly defined (however, my waist to hip ratio is very large)
    4. Hip Shape – D shapely and more pronounced than my waistline
    5. Flesh on Upper Arms and Thighs – D soft, slightly short
    Totals: 2C, 2D, 1A

    Facial Features
    1. Jaw Shape – E rounded or softly wide
    2. Nose Shape – B broad, blunt
    3. Cheekbone Shape – B, wide
    4. Eye Shape – E round and large
    5. Lip Shape – E very full and rounded
    6. Cheekbone Flesh – D soft and fleshy
    Totals: 3E, 2B, 1D

    Final Total: 1A, 4C, 4D, 3B, 3E

    1. Thank you, Alethea! I was pretty nervous about the surgery to be honest, but things are going well now. I actually don’t think this test is the most accurate, so I’ve been working on a better one for awhile now. I’m hoping to finish it by the end of February.

As for your results, I’m leaning more towards you being a soft gamine, since you seem to have a mixture of answers across the features. Here’s the link to my SG Pinterest board:

  13. Hi rebekah..

i have taken the kibbe body type test multiple times but i just can’t find my type..can you help me? thank you!

    body structure: 3C 1E
    body flesh: 2C 2A 1B
    facial features 3D 1B 1C 1E
i think what confuses me most is my height. I’m petite 5’2 (161 cm) but i don’t think i have any gamine features beside my height and small hands/feet..

  14. Hi Rebekah! Thanks for the useful content. The pictures really help to answer the quiz, I’m always a bit confused with the descriptions. I’m pretty small (155 cm), and got pretty mixed results. What do you think?
    1e 2b 3c 4a
    5b 6b 7c 8a 9c
    10d 11c 12d 13c 14d 15d
    Total score: a-2 b-3 c-5 d-4 e-1
Based on pictures I believe I might be soft gamine, but I’m not sure.

    1. Thanks for commenting, Helen! Hmm, you definitely have that tricky set of results where things can go in any number of directions, but based on the distribution of answers, I’d say you’re right on the cusp of classic and gamine. Here’s the links to both my C and G boards so that you can see which lines you prefer:

      C –
      G –

  15. Hi Rebekah.Thank you for giving such a descriptive test but I am still a bit confused on certain things.First of all I think I should state that I’m currently only 17 years old and quite thin so it is very likely my body will change as I get older though I would still like to know where I currently stand.
As for my test results :
Vertical line: I am pretty short for my age but I think people would guess my height correctly so C
Length of arms and lengs: my fingertips reach below my mid thigh so I’d say A
Size of hands and feet: this was a bit hard for me to tell I think there small and a bit narrow though my palm and toes are pretty wide.
Overall shape of my body : I have a slight hourglass though the side of my body isn’t that clinched but I believe thats due to my spine being more curved to the left then normal people.
Bust line: this is also hard for me to tell since my breasts are growing very slowly though I can say that it is bigger than my waist and smaller then my hips.
Waistline: pretty defined but like I said my left side throws me of a bit.
Hips: pretty shapely but not too much.
Flesh on arms and thighs: D soft but slightly taut since I’m very thin.
Jawline: I think D since its slightly narrow a bit tapered but also round dish.
Nose: everyone says I have a sharp and long nose but I think it’s more narrow and tapered so I lean towards D.
Cheekbones: this was very confusing to me but I will say that I can feel them very close to my eyes and that they are not bulging out of cheeks so I really don’t know with this one.
Shape of eyes: I think they are quite small and narrow maybe slightly upturned as well as a bit close I think D.
Lips: my bottom lip is fuller then my upper one they are not to narrow and the sharp lines are very noticeable.
Flesh on cheekbones: I’d say like my arms and thighs they are soft but also a bit tight though it is quite fleshy and noticeable even though I am thin I think I’m closest to D.

When I first heard about the overall traits of kibbe types I thought I was a soft gamine then I took the test and got soft classic though on closer inspection I got theatrical romantic the next two times but I would like to hear what you have to say. Also my family is a bit strict when it comes to clothing and heavy makeup so could you give some more covered and light approaches for TR if I really do fall into those lines.

    1. Thanks for commenting! Based on your descriptions you do sound like a theatrical romantic. Here’s the link to my TR Pinterest board:

For more modest clothing choices, I recommend borrowing some lines from soft natural looks, but keeping thing fitted at the cuffs of sleeves, hems of pants, and possibly also some waistline definition. The ‘Work Wear’ section of my TR board has some good example of clothing that covers a lot of skin as well.

  16. Hello and happy holidays,
I based my results on similarities between overweight and healthy weight (as I have fluctuated at 20). Fair note, my only B comes from being unsure if my bust is wide or moderate. And the E is as my nose is more like Rihanna’s (not sure where that places, hah). I am petite as well, but not fairly delicate.

    Bone Structure: 2C 2D
    Flesh: 1B 2C 2D
    Facial Features: 3C 2D 1E

    Thank you for any help!

  17. Hi, I’m having quite a lot of trouble figuring out my body type.
    My results
    Bone Structure: A, A, A & A
    Flesh: A, B, A, C & A
    Facial Features: C, C, D, E, D & C
I would be very grateful if you’d be able to help me figure it out! Thank you in advance.

  18. Hi Rebekah,

I’m having difficulty typing myself, and everyone I ask has different opinions on what I am. I’ve mostly been told I’m either a dramatic of some kind or a theatrical romantic. My test results are hardly helpful as they’re wildly diverse.

    OVERALL: 3A, 4B, 4C, 4D, 1E

    BONE: 1A, 1B, 2D

    FLESH: 1B, 3C, 1D

    FACE: 1A, 2B, 1C, 1D, 1E

I am 5’5.75. My hands and feet are tiny (size 6.5 feet, 6.25 inch hands from bottom of palm to tip of middle finger) and I have a very defined waist (31-24-36.75). My bone structure is narrow and petite, but I’m often told that I look taller than I actually am.

Any help would be much appreciated!

  19. Hi there,
I love your blog, but I’m a bit confused with what type I am and I would like to figure this out so I can apply your advice!!
    My scores:
    Skeleton: 1c 2a 3a 4c
    Flesh: 5a 6a 7c 8a 9a
    Facial bones: 10a 11e 12a 13c 14e 15a
As you can see I scored a lot of As, followed by Cs and two Es.

  20. Thanks so much for this post, Rebekah. I’m still confused by my results, though. Where do you think I stand?
    Bone structure: 1B, 2B, 3C, 4C.
    Flesh: 5D, 6B, 7D, 8D, 9D.
    Facial features: 10D, 11D, 12B, 13B, 14D, 15B.
Before this test, I always thought I was a soft natural. Jennifer Lawrence is one and we pretty much have a lot in common regarding looks, as well as a slightly athletic build, but we both have a completely different body shape. Mine is the spoon shape, (not to be confused with pear,) it gives me high hips and a defined waist.

    1. Thanks for commenting, Sharzad! You have an interesting set of results. Because of the amount of contrast between your D and B answers, and that you have slightly more D answers, it actually puts you in the soft gamine type, but if you feel more comfortable in soft natural lines, I would recommend sticking to them.

Here are the links to both my SG and SN Pinterest boards:

  21. Hi Rebekah,
I am confused if I am theatrical romantic or soft classic. My answers are as follows:
    bone 4C
    flesh 3D 2C
    face 4D 2C

Could you advise how to interpret it please?

  22. Hello Rebekah, greetings from Brazil! Loved your quiz test, it made Kibbe´s body types so much easier to visualize. I don´t know if you´ll answer this but if you do, please help me with this. I´m pretty small, petite type of girl, (157 cm), tend to the skinny side more than the soft. Tend to have smaller bust even when gaining some weight, but the extra kilos go directly to my butt and thighs, those two only, the rest of my body is always skinny. My results are:
    Bone Structure: 1a 2b 1c
    Flesh on the Body: 1b 2c 2d
    Facial Features: 1b 2c 3e
Wish you an amazing new year! Thank you!

  23. hi! here is my results. can you help me too haha?
    bones; 2b, 2c
    flesh; 3d, 2c
    facial features; 1a, 2b, 1c, 1d, 1e
    total score; 1a, 4b, 5c, 4d, 1e

  24. I just wanted to comment and let you know that this is the BEST test I have taken to find Kibbe type. All the others have left me doubting if I answered correctly, but not in yours! I finally figured out that I’m a soft classic instead of a romantic or soft gamine. All of my answers were either C or E.

  25. Hi Rebekah,
Your post is great becouse of the visual aids for the answers.
Still, I am really confused and can’t seem to diagnose myself. It feels like my face and my body are telling two different stories.
    My answers are:
    bone: 1B, 2A, 3C, 4A
    flesh: 5C, 6A, 7A, 8A, 9B
    facial: 10C, 11B, 12D, 13C, 14C, 15E
I would love any feedback from you.

  26. Hi Rebekah!
Thank you for taking the time to replying and helping us all, you are a hero!
I got som mixed results and would love to hear your take on them:)

I have 6 C, and because the other is spread out so much, I figured that I might “just” be a classic… But I am wondering, have I maybe made some mistakes, because I find that my numbers are kinda all over the place. (Btw, I am 177 cm/5’9″, if that makes a difference)
    Thanks in advance ❤

  27. Hi! Please assist. I can’t seem to fit in here!

  28. Hello, hope all is well!
These are the results I came up with:
    BONE: 1B 2C 1D
    FLESH: 1C 3D 1E
    FACE: 1B 2C 3D

Thanks for the post + your help!

  29. Hello Rebekah!
    My results are:
    Bone Structure:
    1E 2A 3D 4D
    5C 6A 7C 8C 9C
    10D 11A 12D 13C 14C 15D
I’m 5’3″ and have very small hands and feet, everything about my face shape and body tends towards narrowness, but I am not sinewy or muscular, yet I’m not lush or curvy. Just kind of delicate and balanced in the body. My face seems balanced (besides my nose) but my facial expressions make my features seem more prominent, for instance, in photos, my smile and facial expressions are extremely animated. I know the Kibbe system is partially essence so I wanted to mention it in case it influences my results. Thank you for reading this & for working so hard on your site, it’s wonderful!
Hope your recovery is going well!

  30. Hello, Rebekah! I’m quite confused as to wether I’m a TR or SG, so your help would be very much appreciated. I’m always busty, even when I’m skinny and I do have the typical SG saucer-eyes, but I’m not sure. Might also be an Ingenue, but I’m not sure. My aswers are:
Thank you in advance and lots of love from Romania! Please excuse my language, if i happen to make some mistakes…

  31. I can’t find the results:
    1) A, 2) B, 3) B 4) E, 5) D, 6) C or D, 7) C, 8) D, 9) C, 10) E, 11) C, 12) E, 13) E, 14) E and 15) D

  32. Hi Rebekah!
    Hope you are doing well!
This is by far one of the best body type test I’ve taken. The pictures and format are easy to go trough and incredibly helpful. I’m still a little unsure of the results.
    My results are :
    2C 1A 1D

    2C 1A 2D

    2C 1A 3D 1E

    Overall 6C 3A 6D 1E

I think this might correspond to soft Classic, but I’m not completely sure. For reference I am 5’1’’ and have a fleshier body with wider hips, although my upper body is more on the angular side. My style is closer to soft gamine but I’m eager to try different silhouettes!

  33. Thanks for the post, I’m not sure what type i am.
    My results are:
Really hope you could help me figure it out 😊

  34. Hello! I am a 16 year old girl, trying to figure out my type! I just took the test, here are my results:

    Bone structure: 1D 2B 1A
    Flesh: 3B 2C
    Face: 1B 2E 1D 2C

    6B 4C 2E 2D 1A

So according to this, am I a Soft Natural? I have both A answers and D/E answers along with my B’s. So I am not entirely sure…. and you said that your live type can change… I wish I was a romantic or theatrical romantic, especially since my personality fits the “essence” of the type as described by Mr. Kibbe. I really could become more Yin with exercise or something like that?

    Thank you in advance!

    1. Thanks for commenting, Inam! Yep, you’re a soft natural, but your body type definitely can change. When I first discovered the body types (I think I was 15?) I was a soft gamine, then I transitioned to soft classic, then dramatic classic.

You can definitely change parts of your flesh through exercise. For example, doing lots of glute and thigh exercises can create a rounder, more pear like shape. It may not be enough to completely change your body type, but everyone experiences different things as their body matures, and development stops at around the age of 25, so you still have a lot of time.

  35. Thank You, this Was very helpful! I git 7 ds, 5 es, 2 ds and one b, so I guess I’m a romantic 🙂

  36. Thank you for the illustrated quiz. I hope you are recovered from your surgery.

If you have time, I’d love your help figuring out my type. Height wise, I am around 5′ 7.5. I tend to gain and lose weight fairly evenly over my body. I appreciate any insight you can share. Thanks!

    Bone structure:
    B- 1, C- 2, E-1
    C – 3, D – 2
    A – 1, C -5

  37. Hi, hope your surgery went well. I would appreciate your help. I’ve taken this test several different versions but get different answers (gamine, soft natural and classic). I love the way you help explain the questions though so I feel like this is the most accurate version. I got tied results but here is the breakdown.
    Bone B2 and C2
    Flesh B2, C2 and D1
    Face A1, B1, C1 and E3
    totals A1 B5, C5, D1 and E3
Here is a link to my Instagram if that helps (

  38. I’d love some help if you have time.

My results are really confusing me, I had
    Bone structure: 2B 2A
    Body flesh: 2B 1C 2D
    Facial features: 1A 2D 3E

    I’m quite tall (5ft, 11,5in), if that matters…

    I’d appreciate any feedback/advice!

      1. Thank you for your response! I thought gamine was out of the question for me, given my height. So I always dismissed it. Though the outfits recommended for gamine are usually right up my alley. I had started pondering soft dramatic, given my yang bones and softer flesh.

      2. I also have a large chest, which isn’t gamine, from what I understand. Kibbe is confusing is what I’m trying to say. Thank you so much for taking time to help people out. We apprecciate you!

      3. It’s no problem! In regards to height and chest size, an important thing to keep in mind is that gamines have a mixture of answers. While usually that mixture results in the stereotypical idea of a gamine being short, thin, etc. there’s still room for answers that don’t seem to fit the stereotype, but that do fit in with the mixture of results.

For example, Taylor Swift looks great in gamine lines, even though she’s a rather tall woman. But her height is part of her mixture. 🙂

  39. Hi Rebekah, I find your post very helpful since it has a lot of visual aids. Still, I kinda need a little help with determining my kibbe type.
    bone: C C A A
    flesh: D C E D B
    facial: C E D C D E
Earlier I though I am either DC or FG but now it looks like SD? You can clearly see that I’m all over the place ^^

  40. Hi rebeka I can’t find my body type.
Can you help me please? My results are
    Bone structure: 2d 2a
    Flesh: 2c 2b 1a
    Facial features: 3e 2c 1a
    Thank you!

  41. Hi Rebekah!
I did the test and I can’t find the ‘next page’, so I’m leaving my answers here!
    1C 2C 3C 4A
    5D 6C 7D 8D 9D 10E
    11E 12E 13C 14E 15D
I’m guessing that I’m dramatic classic but I’m not sure? I look forward to hear from you!

      1. Thank you for your response Rebekah! I’m still kind of struggling to see the exact differences between some types, but this is very interesting to learn about. Also apologies I reposted my comment by accident, under Jasmine’s replies, you could delete that if you want!

  42. I don’t really feel like I fit Kibbe at all. I think I probably go better under Kitcheners system under ingenue. I’m very yin, but I’m not quite as “sexy” or “womanly” as a romantic. I’d like a second opinion with my answers though. Thank you!
C – vertical line (I’m very short, but look my height)
    E – shoulders
    C – limbs
E – hands feet (I’d say my hands are e, but my feet are pretty big)
    D – shape
    E – bust
    E – waist
    C – hips
    E – limb flesh
    E – jaw
    B – nose
    E – cheek bones
    D – eyes
    E – lips
    D – cheek flesh

    Bone 2c 2e
    Flesh 1c 1d 3e
    Face 1b 2d 3e

    1. Thanks for commenting, Rose! Based on your results, you are a romantic, but I find myself growing adverse to the stereotypes associated with the Kibbe body types. That’s one of the reasons why I’m starting to go into Body Geometry as opposed to the Kibbe body types. While it’s a similar test, the results are purely about the shapes of your body, as opposed to the essence and personality associated with the Kibbe types.

In Body Geometry you’d have a Rounded body type.

Here’s the link to my Rounded Pinterest board:

  43. Hi, my suspicions are that I am a soft natural but I’m really just grasping at straws with that. my results were”
    bone structure
    3b 1a
    body flesh
    1b 2d 2e
    Facial features
    1a 2c 3e

  44. Dear Rebekah,

this experience was amazing. I have been dealing with my body type since I was in my adolescence and always knew that I make a sharp, bony, even stiff impression. I learned how to get along with this and made a style out of it. Now, since a few years, I started gaining some weight, and I am afraid that my bony structure will bring me only disadvantages in combination with some weight. However, I am not that far in the process, I only got a bit broader everywhere, especially waist and torso (under bust line). Overall, the changes go towards a shorter neck and somehow sharper shoulders, and because of the broader hips, it sometimes seems that I have shorter legs.

According to the test, I am some weird combination of Dramatic and Natural but given the rate of the answers (7A, 6B, 1C, 2E, or considering the current tendencies of my body, it could also be 6A, 5B, 3C, 2E), I tend to believe that I might be a Dramatic going towards a Flamboyant Natural. PLEASE confirm or contradict this.

So, related to your opinion regarding the changes of the body type, I seem to be a living example that this does happen. The question is what can one make out of it. For example, my plan would be now to go towards some Romantic features, so work out my waist, and mould the hips and the legs so that they stay fit. But this is the problem, cause I have a busy and unstructured daily routine and working out is not my favourite hobby, but I do enjoy doing some sports in nature. Som we`ll see towards what I am heading.

Congratulations on your work and good luck with all your body and style projects. This is also a science, and it can be very enjoyable and rewarding to do science with yourself. 😉 I think knowing yourself and is a great achievement for a woman and an important contribution to the self-confidence!

    1. Thank you, Caty! I’d say you are a dramatic with a strong FN undertone.

For more romantic features, you may also want to look at muscle building exercises that target the glutes and thighs, as those will create a rounder hip shape, which when combined with a toned waistline will create a more pear shaped silhouette. It doesn’t take a lot to see results, when I was doing some experimenting I found that about 5 minutes of exercise targeting those areas (squats, fire hydrants, glute bridges) each day started to show results after a couple of months.

And thank you for your support. I find that learning about the body types has greatly increased my confidence and my love for my body, and so I hope it does that for everyone who delves into this. 🙂

  45. Hey, Rebekah! Thank you so much for this test. I took another one half a week ago and got Flamboyant Gamine, but I’m tall with wide hips and my face isn’t as angular as a lot of the examples I saw. Judging by this, I’m pretty sure I’m not. I think I might be a Soft Classic or Theatrical Romantic, but I just can’t seem to figure it out.
    My results were:
    Bone Structure: 2D 1C 1A
    Flesh: 3D 2B
    Facial Features: 4C 2E
It seems like I’ve got the most D/E, but my undercurrents are C instead of A/B.
If it’s of any use, I’m a little over 5’9″.
Thank you for any input. I hope all is well with your recovery.

  46. Hello! I’ve just discovered about Kibbe Body Types and I find this quiz very helpful! I’d really appreciate it if you could help me out with my results:

    Bone Structure – B1 C2 D1
    Flesh – B3 C2
    Facial Features- C2 D2 E2

I figured that I might be a Classic but my Bs (and maybe my Ds?) are also quite a lot so I’m a bit confused.
    Thank you so much!

    1. Thanks for commenting, Lena! I just want to confirm your results, as you may have a typo in the flesh category. You wrote 4D 6C in flesh, which I think may be an error. Apart from that your results seem to indicate that you’re a soft classic. 🙂

  47. Hi! I just came across your blog and I hope you would help me figure out my body type.
    Bone Structure: C B A C
    Flesh: D B D D E
    Facial Structure: E E D A D D
Thank you for this post, and also for the “Signature Looks for the Kibbe Body Types”, they’re so helpful!

  48. Hi, Rebekah! Hope your surgery went well 🙂 Thank your for this great resource, the diagrams are super helpful and cute and the fact that you’re still helping people out is amazing.

I was wondering if you could lend a bit of help regarding my results:

    Bone Structure: 1A 1B 2D
    Flesh: 1A 4C (/3C- possibly one D in there?)
    Facial Features: 1A 1B 1C 2D 1E
    Overall: 3A 2B 5C 4D 1E

    Thank you very much!
