A Very Earthy-Colored Thrift Haul

The other weekend I went to a local thrift store with my mom, to see what they had available before they closed for the rest of summer. Normally I don’t find a lot of stuff there, as a lot of the pieces are either too big or not in my style, but I actually got really lucky and a found a lot of cute items.

Because I had so much success I decided to make this thrift haul, to share my finds! I love watching thrift haul videos, they really inspire me to find cool items, so I hope you find this blog post inspiring too.

I also found a couple of very special pieces, which I’ll save for the end, so be sure to read the whole thing!

1. Olive Long Sleeve T-Shirt

I have a lot of difficulty finding the basics at thrift stores, especially solid-colored long sleeve shirts, so I was very happy when I found this shirt, which is a beautiful shade of olive green. I love using shirts like these for layering, and also to wear as simple tops during the winter.

The color also goes beautifully with this olive green skirt that I found, which you’ll see later in the haul.

This shirt was originally from the Gap, and it’s made out of 60% cotton and 40% modal, which makes it super comfy.

2. Brown Long Sleeve T-Shirt

This is another basic item, great for layering or wearing on its own. I’m normally surprised to find one solid-colored t-shirt that fits me, so I was quite lucky to find two this time.

These pieces are going to be great for the winter, and I really look forward to experimenting with layering other clothing pieces over them.

This was originally from the brand Ellen Tracy, and it’s made out of 92% pima cotton and 8% spandex, which gives this shirt a very soft and high quality feeling.

3. Honey Orange T-Shirt

This shirt is so soft and breathable, which makes it so comfortable for the summer weather. What I love most about this shirt is how perfect it is for layering over a cute bralette, which gives it this lovely playful look.

This shirt was originally from Twik, and it’s made from 60% cotton, 35% modal, and 5% spandex.

4. Light Brown Tank Top

Another piece that I have difficulty finding at my local thrift store: plain tank tops. This tank top fits me perfectly, apart from the straps which are a bit too long for my narrow shoulders, so I’ll probably be doing some small alterations to get them to fit better.

Unfortunately the fabric tag has been cut out, but this tank top was originally from H&M.

5. Beige Camisole

I’ve been looking for a good beige camisole for awhile now, so I’m really happy to have finally found one! I love the summer look of wearing a camisole with a skirt, and this camisole is absolutely perfect for that.

This camisole is originally from Beechers Brook, and it’s made out of 92% polyester and 8% spandex.

6. Maroon and Grey Sweater Dress

This is just a simple, thin sweater dress, which makes it very versatile! I can wear it on cooler summer days on its own, or I can wear it with a sweater layered over during fall and winter.

It overall has a very cozy and cute look, which is why I love this dress!

It was originally from Forever 21, but unfortunately I don’t know what it’s made out of.

7. Black Midi Skirt

I love a good midi skirt, since I find that the midi length shows off just enough skin without risk of me flashing someone if I sit the wrong way. It’s also the perfect width to be worn at my waist, which helps give some flattering waist emphasis.

This piece is also versatile, since the material is so stretchy. It can be worn as a high-waisted midi skirt, a sleeveless mini dress, or as a low waisted maxi skirt, depending on what I’m in the mood for.

This piece is originally from Suzy Shier. Unfortunately the materials tag has already been cut out, but it feels like a polyester and spandex blend.

8. Olive Green Skirt

This is a piece that I was so excited to find, even though it’s a few sizes too big for me. I really love this shade of green, as well as the soft material that’s reminiscent of corduroy.

Because it was too big, I took it in at the waist, so now this skirt shows off my waistline.

This skirt was originally from Liz Claiborne, and it’s made out of 97% polyester and 3% spandex.

9. Corduroy Pants

Who doesn’t love corduroy? Well, probably a lot of people, since corduroy seems to be a divisive material, but I am firmly on the side of corduroy being cute.

I love the retro look of these pants, but unfortunately I don’t know which brand they’re from. They’re made from 97% cotton and 3% spandex.

10. Grey Fringe Vest

Okay, so I’m going to be honest here, I didn’t actually buy this vest to wear. I bought it because the suede-like material it’s made out of is perfect for sewing.

I had found a free mouse plushie sewing pattern a couple days before I went thrift shopping, but was sad because I didn’t have the right material to make it. Now I do! This vest has much more fabric than I need though, so I may make more than one mouse, or I might make a menagerie of different creatures!

11. Gold Star Necklace

I love this necklace so much, since it’s so cute and simple. It’s the kind of piece that can be worn with anything, and its minimal look means that it doesn’t serve as a distraction from my face.

And with that piece, this thrift haul comes to an end. If you’re curious about how to make more out of your thrift store journeys, check out my thrifting tips post.
