Body Type Test Results

As a quick warning, interpreting the results may seem a bit complicated. Don’t worry if you’re not sure about what your results are; if you’re having difficulty interpreting the results just leave a comment with your answers and I’ll do my best to help you out.

Romantics

If you got mostly ‘E’ answers, then you have the romantic body type.

Your body is made up of soft and rounded lines, and you’re probably on the short side. Some of your features may seem wide, but because they’re short and rounded, they don’t have a lot of visual weight. If you work out a lot your muscles are softly defined rather than quite sharp. When you gain weight your body becomes very rounded and soft, however you will still maintain a softly defined figure if you’re an hourglass shape.

If you got mostly ‘D’ answers, or a combination of ‘E’ and ‘D’ with up to 4 ‘A’ + ‘B’ answers in body or facial bones, then you have the theatrical romantic body type.

Your body is made up of soft and rounded lines, however you also have some added angularity in your bone structure or facial features. You also tend to be more narrow than the romantic. If you work out a lot your muscles are softly defined rather than quite sharp. When you gain weight your body becomes very rounded and soft, however you will still maintain a defined figure if you’re an hourglass shape.

Dramatics

If you got mostly ‘A’ answers, then you have the dramatic body type.

Your body is made up of long and sharply angular lines, however you still tend to be on the narrow side. You’re probably also on the tall side. If you work out a lot your muscles are defined but add to your visual length rather than widening out your figure. When you gain weight your body still keeps a rather straight silhouette, rather than becoming extremely curved.

If you got mostly ‘A’ answers, plus some ‘D’ or ‘E’ answers in flesh or facial features, then you have the soft dramatic body type.

Your body is made up of long and sharply rounded lines, however you have some added softness in your flesh or facial features. You’re also probably on the tall side. If you work out a lot your muscles may be more softly defined than the dramatic’s, as you have some softness in your flesh. When you gain weight it tends to collect most at your softest features.

Classics

If you got mostly ‘C’ answers, then you have the classic body type.

Your body is quite evenly proportioned, and you’re probably of average height. It’s hard to say if any of your features are soft and round, or sharp and angular, since they’re such an even blend. If you work out a lot your muscles tend to add to your balanced look, rather than changing it. When you gain weight you still maintain your balanced look, neither very rounded nor very straight. A blend between the two.

If you got mostly ‘C’ answers, with several ‘D’ or ‘E’ answers, then you have the soft classic body type.

Your body is quite evenly proportioned, however you have some added softness, probably in your flesh or facial features. You look to be of average height or a bit short. If you work out a lot your muscles may be softly defined, however your body still looks quite balanced. When you gain weight your body tends to become rounder and quite soft.

If you got mostly ‘C’ answers, with several ‘A’ or ‘B’ answers, then you have the dramatic classic body type.

Naturals

If you got mostly ‘B’ answers, then you have the natural body type.

Your body is made of beveled angles and has a wide bone structure. You’re probably of average height or slightly tall, however you don’t look as long as the dramatic. You gain muscle easily, and if you work out a lot your muscles add to your broadness and can be quite defined. When you gain weight your body tends to stick to a square-ish shape.

If you got mostly ‘B’ answers, with several ‘D’ or ‘E’ answers, then you have the soft natural body type.

Your body is made of beveled angles and has a wide bone structure, however you have some added softness, probably in your flesh or facial features. You’re probably slightly short or of average height. You gain muscle easily when working out, however it tends to be more softly defined than with the natural. When you gain weight you tend to collect it in the parts of your flesh that are softest, which can lead to a very rounded figure.

If you got mostly ‘B’ answers, with several ‘A’ answers, then you have the flamboyant natural body type.

Your body is made of beveled angles and has a wide bone structure, however you have some added length and sharpness. You’re probably quite tall, or look tall. You gain muscle easily when working out, however it can be wide and defined, or long and straight depending on where your sharper angularity comes from. When you gain weight your body tends to maintain a straight shape, like a rectangle or square.

Gamines

(The name comes from a French word, so it’s masculine when spelled as ‘gamin’ and feminine when spelled as ‘gamine’, however I’ll be treating the word gamine as if it was already gender neutral.)

If you got an even mixture of ‘A’ + ‘B’ answers and ‘D’ + ‘E’ answers, then you have the gamine body type.

You have a mixture of structured and soft answers across your bone structure, flesh, facial bones, and facial features, which makes it difficult to say exactly where each answer will fall. I also can’t say exactly how muscle or weight gain will happen to you, as it’s quite difficult to make generalizations about gamines.

If you got a mixture of answers, with more ‘D’ + ‘E’ answers than ‘A’ + ‘B’, then you have the soft gamine body type.

You have a mixture of structured and soft answers across your bone structure, flesh, facial bones, and facial features, however you have some added softness (probably in your flesh or facial features). If you have softer flesh then your muscles will become softly defined from working out, and your figure will become rounded from weight gain.

You have a mixture of structured and soft answers across your bone structure, flesh, facial bones, and facial features, however you have some added angularity (probably in your flesh or facial features). If you have more structured flesh then you’ll probably gain muscle easily from working out, and it will add to your angular silhouette. Weight gain will also maintain a straighter figure, unless you have soft answers in your flesh.

      1. Hi Rebekah! I’d love to know your opinion about my answers…

        – The bone structure of my body: C B A A A A D B
        – My facial bones: A B A
        – The flesh of my body: D D D
        – My facial features: D E D
        Total:
        A + B 9
        D + E 7

Can I be a FG despite of the Yin influence on my body’s flesh and facial features? Thank you very much!

      2. Based on your results, I’m actually leaning more towards you being a soft dramatic, since you have pretty sharp bones in your body and face, and softness in your flesh and facial features.

  2. Hi, I am so confused. Could you please help me with my answers? So my body structure are: CAACAACC, face: AEE, flesh on body: BDE, facial features: CEB. I probably would go with flamboyant gamine but so not sure about that.

  3. I just saw your new test. I was confused about the other test and messaged you, and you told me to check out soft natural. In this test, I got, tadaa: 7B, with 4D and 5E. Soft natural. Thank you for all your work and patience, now I am going to hunt for looks. 🙂

      1. Thanks a lot! I naturally have wavy red hair and am considering cutting it down to a tousled bob, which looks like it could fit my body type as well. Yay!

        I am definitely more of a mid-rise jeans-type, but that shouldn’t be a problem.

  4. I’m very very confused! I seem to have an even mix of all answers…
    Bone structure: B E C A E B C B
    Facial bones. E A C
    Flesh: A D D
    Features: D C E

Maybe I got too many answers wrong? It doesn’t make sense

    1. Hi Rebekah!
I’m determined to figure out my type. Thank you for separating the arms and leg questions, as my arms and legs are a little different. From this test my answers are such:
      1-8) CBAAEEBA
      9-11) BDD
      12-17) EDAAAB

I’m basically 2/3 yang to 1/3 yin, so I assume this lands me in the Flamboyant Gamine family, however, I wear Flamboyant Natural lines a lot better- like cowl necks, longer looser lines, soft structure, etc.- way better than I wear the staccato lines of a Flamboyant Gamine. I do tend to wear opposite shapes however, like more fitted pants with a looser top, or if I’m wearing an oversized top with a slouchier boyfriend jean I always cuff the pant to ankle length. In this way, I find I strike the balance point to be a touch of yin or gamine elements while predominantly wearing Flamboyant Natural lines. Also, because my facial features are small but my forehead high and face both long and broad (plus prominent bustline) I find I wear large accessories quite well, however the smaller scale prints and lighter fabrics of the Flamboyant Gamine tie in my small facial features way better. My fair skin and lack of contrast in my coloring lend an ethereal nature to my appearance and my coloring is definitely subtle and blended, though a touch of brightness in my outfits always seems to strike the perfect note on me- my cheeks are quite rosy and I think this is where the color pops tie in. It adds that playful element as well, which is definitely gamine. I just would say I don’t have very many yin features or any of the usual gamine facial features (large eyes, full lips, etc.) so I only use the Flamboyant Gamine elements as accents.

This is what helps with the quiz, being able to see the breakdown of the elements. Thank you.

      1. Thanks for your comment, Kenzie! I really like the way you mix flamboyant natural and flamboyant gamine lines together, it’s really interesting to read about!

Overall I think your balance is that of a flamboyant gamine, and I think you should take a look at Zendaya’s style, as I see her as a flamboyant gamine, but she does also mix natural elements into her look. You might find her to be a good style icon! 😀 I find that overall, because of their mixture of lines, flamboyant gamines can pull off mixing all different kinds of lines.

  5. Thanks for the reply Rebekah!

Makes sense that Flamboyant Gamines would be able to pull off a variety of lines, and in that way I most definitely identify with my quiz results. I’ve always taken a lot of liberties in my looks, so this makes sense. Sometimes I crave a little more definition to my style, or signature lines, because it does seem I can wear nearly anything, but lately I’ve been honing in on what really sings on me and why. That’s where I can see the Natural lines coming through, with fitted finishes, and that seems to be my signature.

Thanks for the Zendaya recommendation. Brigitte Bardot also had a lot of Natural lines even though she was a Gamine (soft on both counts) and Merriam breaks this down on youtube, as well as Zendaya’s style (which I haven’t watched yet, but will now!).

Thanks again. I hope you can figure out a way to do consultations because I do wonder how many of us are objective enough to ace the quiz by ourselves! ha!

    1. Thanks! I’m really looking forward to doing consultations, as I’m almost finished getting stuff in place. 😀 I don’t have a date estimation yet, as current events have kind of thrown a wrench into my ability to schedule things, but I’m going to be able to do a lot of writing this April, so I’m feeling very excited!

  6. Hi! I have asked you before but I noticed that pictures taken in the mirror look a bit different, so from my test results and my pictures, would you still consider me as a soft classic?
Many I asked think I’m R, SD,SG or SN but nobody seem to suggests SC which was my initial guess🤔
