Sometimes it can be difficult to identify different types of features when you’re learning about the Kibbe body types, so I decided to make a post with different examples of all the different body types. While it’s fairly common for people to have a feature or two that doesn’t perfectly match the description of their body type, you have to keep in mind that the body types are very holistic in nature, so it’s about the overall combination of features that creates the type.
Also, please don’t take this post too seriously. I know that people really like to debate the body types of various celebrities, which is fine, but this post is mainly to provide a lot of examples for people wondering what the overall vibe or appearance of the different body types are.
Romantics
(Short bone structure with extremely soft flesh and very rounded facial features. May be softly wide.)

Romantic Example #1: Doja Cat
With her rounded facial features and extremely soft flesh, Doja Cat makes for a good example of a romantic with a not-so-typically-romantic style.

Romantic Example #2: Lana Condor
While I have seen some debate online on Lana Condor’s body type, I believe that she is a romantic. Remember: romantics can have some soft width to their bone structure too!

Romantic Example #3: Marilyn Monroe
The classic example of a romantic, Marilyn Monroe is actually Kibbe’s prime celebrity example for the romantic body type in his book Metamorphosis.

Romantic Example #4: Gabourey Sidibe
I think Gaboyrey Sidibe is a great example of a romantic, as she carries the rounded and flowing lines of romantics so well.
Theatrical Romantics
(Short and slender bone structure with soft flesh and facial features. May have some slight angularity in bone structure or facial bones.)

Theatrical Romantic Example #1: Tess Holliday
Tess Holliday looks absolutely stunning in the famous Strawberry Dress that took the internet by storm, and I think that that’s because the Strawberry Dress looks great on theatrical romantics!

Theatrical Romantic Example #2: Li Jun Li
While I wasn’t too sure at first, after looking at several of her photos, I think that American actress Li Jun Li is a theatrical romantic, as she has a delicate frame with some slender angularity in her facial bones.

Theatrical Romantic Example #3: Rachel McAdams
Rachel McAdams, who I love as her role of Regina George in the movie Mean Girls, is definitely a theatrical romantic. I love seeing her in that movie, because I think it provides a good look at what theatrical romantic lines look like in a classic 2000s style.

Theatrical Romantic Example #4: Rihanna
I was a bit hesitant to use Rihanna as an example of a theatrical romantic, as there is some controversy surrounding her height, but she has been reportedly typed by Kibbe as a TR, and I do find she looks amazing in theatrical romantic lines and makeup.

Theatrical Romantic Example #5: Tiya Sircar
I first saw Tiya Sircar in The Good Place (which is a fantastic show that I highly recommend), and in the first few episodes I debated whether she’s a soft gamine or a theatrical romantic, but after seeing her in a few different episodes, I found that she looks like a theatrical romantic, and I think that TR lines are her best look.
Dramatics
(Long lines and sharp bone structure, with very taut or dry flesh and facial features.)

Dramatic Example #1: Cate Blanchett
With her sharp bone structure and commanding presence, Cate Blanchett is one of my examples of a dramatic, and I absolutely loved seeing her wear some stylish dramatic lines in the movie Ocean’s 8.

Dramatic Example #2: Amal Clooney
I think Amal Clooney is a wonderful example for how someone can wear dramatic lines in an elegant and feminine way. I absolutely love her sense of style!

Dramatic Example #3: Beck Delude
I absolutely love how Beck Delude is an example of how bone structure is apparent no matter what someone’s weight level is. When looking at her photos, you can immediately see her long lines and her sharp bone structure.

Dramatic Example #4: Donyale Luna
Donyale Luna is generally cited as “the first black supermodel”, and I think when you look at her lithe limbs and captivating features, you can really see why she was a supermodel. Her look is fierce and magnificent.

Dramatic Example #5: Fei Fei Sun
Another supermodel as an example for a dramatic, which isn’t too surprising given that most models are quite tall (putting them in the prime height range for dramatics, soft dramatics, and flamboyant naturals). Fei Fei Sun’s angularity can be seen primarily in her bone structure and facial bones, especially her cheekbones and jawline.
Soft Dramatics
(Long lines and sharp bone structure, but with softer flesh and/or facial features.)

Soft Dramatic Example #1: Sonam Kapoor
Sonam Kapoor is a wonderful example of a soft dramatic, as you can clearly see her sharp bone structure and facial bones, plus the added softness in her flesh and facial features, the prime characteristics of a soft dramatic.

Soft Dramatic Example #2: Claudia Kim
When I first looked at her photos, I wasn’t sure if Claudia Kim would be considered a dramatic or a soft dramatic, but when I saw her in her stunning wedding gown I knew immediately that her combination of a long and slender bone structure with soft facial features were what made the soft dramatic lines of that gown absolutely flow on her.

Soft Dramatic Example #3: Christina Hendricks
Mad Men actress Christina Hendricks is a prime example of a soft dramatic, and I think she looks phenomenal when she wears her soft dramatic lines.

Soft Dramatic Example #4: Megan Thee Stallion
I’ve seen some debate online as to whether Megan Thee Stallion is a soft dramatic or a flamboyant natural, but I really think that the glamorous look of soft dramatic lines suits her more than the loose and strong look of flamboyant natural lines.

Soft Dramatic Example #5: Sofia Vergara
I think that Sofia Vergara is a great example of a soft dramatic, because you look at her and you just immediately know that she is one. She seems to embrace her soft dramatic lines a lot, and she looks stunning in them.
Classics
(Extremely balanced and symmetrical bone structure, flesh, and facial features.)

Classic Example #1: Grace Kelly
Grace Kelly, Princess of Monaco, is David Kibbe’s prime celebrity example in his book Metamorphosis, and I can really see why. Pretty much every photo of her exudes elegance, and her features and bone structure are all extremely balanced.

Classic Example #2: Rochelle Humes
While Rochelle Humes is on the tall end of the height range for classics, when I look at her photos I find that she exudes the same elegance and balance that Grace Kelly does. She looks wonderful in the minimal and symmetrical lines of classics, and I think that she makes for a great example of the classic body type.

Classic Example #3: Zhang Ziyi
Chinese actress and model Zhang Ziyi is another great example of a classic! Her bone structure and features are extremely balanced, and she looks amazing in minimal and symmetrical silhouettes.
Soft Classics
(Very balanced lines and bone structure, with some added softness in flesh and facial features.)

Soft Classic Example #1: Jisoo
BlackPink member Jisoo is a great example of a soft classic, with her blended bone structure and soft facial features. I love seeing her in a variety of different outfits, and I think she’s a great source of inspiration for any soft classic looking for modern outfit ideas!

Soft Classic Example #2: Dakota Johnson
Dakota Johnson is another great example of a soft classic, especially if you’re looking for some modern outfit ideas for soft classics to wear. I especially love how her makeup and hair suit her face so well!

Soft Classic Example #3: Lupita Nyong’o
Lupita Nyong’o is one of my favorite examples for the soft classic body type, because she has a great balance of blended lines and softer features. She’s also stunning, especially in the blue dress featured in the example image on the right (which is my favorite look from her, I find she looks like a modern-day Cinderella in that dress).

Soft Classic Example #4: Oprah Winfrey
I think that Oprah Winfrey is another great example of the mixture of a balanced bone structure with softer flesh and facial features that soft classics have. I think her dress on the right is a great look on her too.
Dramatic Classics
(Very balanced lines, with some slight sharpness in bone structure and/or some taut or dry facial features.)

Dramatic Classic Example #1: Courteney Cox
Friends actress Courteney Cox is a great example of a dramatic classic, and the show is a great way to find examples of a lot of 90s looks on the dramatic classic body type. If you’re not a fan of the show, then don’t worry, because Pinterest is a great way to find a lot of pictures of the outfits that she wore on the show!

Dramatic Classic Example #2: Anna O’Brien
Anna O’Brien, author and fashion blogger, is a dramatic classic, in my opinion. I think that she looks amazing in the minimal silhouettes of classics, with a bit of added sharpness. I also think she looks super cute in her red lip makeup look in the photo on the left!

Dramatic Classic Example #3: Phylicia Rashad
Phylicia Rashad is immediately identifiable as a dramatic classic with her balanced bone structure and sharper facial features, and she looks amazing in minimal outfits with some added sharpness to them, like with the button up on the left.

Dramatic Classic Example #4: Rosé
BlackPink member Rosé is often considered to be a dramatic classic, and I have to agree. I’ve taken a look at a lot of her outfits, and I think that she looks her best in dramatic classic lines, so if you’re a dramatic classic looking for some modern DC outfits, then I highly suggest checking out her looks!

Dramatic Classic Example #5: Naomi Scott
While I have sometimes seen Naomi Scott typed as a soft classic online, I have to disagree. She does have a lot of balance in her bone structure and flesh, but I think her facial features have some added sharpness, making her a dramatic classic.
Naturals
(A lot of width to their bone structure and lines, with blunt angles as opposed to sharp ones.)

Natural Example #1: Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston was actually the first example that I ever learned about for the natural family of body types, and I think it’s easy to see why! Her bone structure and facial features have the width and blunt angles that naturals are known for, and she looks stunning in her natural lines.

Natural Example #2: Priyanka Chopra
While I have sometimes seen Priyanka Chopra typed as a soft dramatic, I’ve also seen her typed as a natural, and I think that she fits well into the natural body type. As you can see, she was width to her bone structure, and bluntness to her angles, which makes her a beautiful example of a natural.

Natural Example #3: Kelly Hu
Another great example of a natural body type is American actress Kelly Hu. Like Jennifer Aniston, she shape of her bone structure and facial features are immediately identifiable as natural features, and she looks amazing in her lines (such as with the dress on the right).

Natural Example #4: Meghan Markle
Meghan Markle is another fantastic example for the natural body type, and I think we can especially see the natural lines in her facial features.
Soft Naturals
(Some width and blunt angles to their bone structure and facial bones, but with some added softness, usually in facial features or figure.)

Soft Natural Example #1: Viola Davis
Viola Davis is a great example of a soft natural. Her bone structure has the width and blunt angles that members of the natural family are known for, along with the added softness in flesh and facial features that makes soft naturals, well, soft!

Soft Natural Example #2: Sandra Oh
I think that Sandra Oh looks amazing in her soft natural lines, such as the gown in the picture on the right. She also looks beautiful with the tousled and soft hairstyles that are recommended for soft naturals.

Soft Natural Example #3: Aishwarya Rai
Aishwarya Rai is a stunning example of a soft natural, and I think she wears her lines quite well! She’s a great example for how a slightly more ornate or glamorous hairstyle is great for soft naturals for formal occasions.

Soft Natural Example #4: Molly Ringwald
Molly Ringwald played lead roles in a few 80s coming of age and rom-com movies, so if you’re a soft natural looking for inspiration for 80s looks, then I recommend checking out her films!

Soft Natural Example #5: Nicole Simone
Nicole Simone is another good example for the soft natural body type, and is a great resource for soft naturals looking for some vintage outfit inspiration.
Flamboyant Naturals
(Width and blunt angles, but with added length and sharpness in the lines and facial features.)

Flamboyant Natural Example #1: Solange Knowles
Something that I find very interesting is that despite looking a lot like her sister Beyonce, Solange Knowles is a completely different body type. Beyonce is a romantic and Solange is a flamboyant natural.

Flamboyant Natural Example #2: Lisa
BlackPink member Lisa is a great style icon for flamboyant naturals who enjoy a modern or casual style! She uses a lot of cool styling tricks to highlight her long lines.

Flamboyant Natural Example #3: Lizzo
Lizzo is quite tall and also has some width to her, which makes her a flamboyant natural. She looks stunning with loose and slightly messy hair in the photo on the left, as it suits her flamboyant natural lines.

Flamboyant Natural Example #4: Candice Swanepoel
Candice Swanepoel, a South African model, is a great example of a flambyant natural, with her long limbs and some width to her facial features. A lot of models are flamboyant naturals, dramatics, or soft dramatics.
Gamines
(A combination of opposites, lots of soft and short lines mixed with slender and sharp lines.)

Gamine Example #1: Dascha Polanco
At first I wasn’t sure what body type Dascha Polanco has, because she has quite a bit of softness to her, so she might actually be a soft gamine, but I think she looks pretty good with gamine lines.

Gamine Example #2: Audrey Tautou
French actress Audrey Tautou is a great example of a gamine. She has a lot of mixture to her lines, and you can see how fresh she looks in her gamine lines.
Soft Gamines
(A combination of opposites, with added softness, usually in flesh or figure.)

Soft Gamine Example #1: Jenna Coleman
Jenna Coleman is one of the first soft gamine examples that I learned of, and there’s a good reason why: she almost always wears gamine lines! She’s a great source of style inspiration for soft gamines.

Soft Gamine Example #2: Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling is another great example of a soft gamine, and I think you can see just how good she looks in soft gamine lines in both photos.

Soft Gamine Example #3: Eartha Kitt
Eartha Kitt immediately stands out as a soft gamine beauty, with her mixture of opposites and soft flesh and facial features.

Soft Gamine Example #4: Brenda Song
Brenda Song also has a lot of mixture to her lines and features, with more softness than sharpness. As you can see, she’s wearing some gamine lines in the photo on the right.

Soft Gamine Example #5: Octavia Spencer
A wonderful actress, Octavia Spencer is another example of a soft gamine. As you can see, she’s wearing a dress with a lot of soft gamine elements in the photo on the right.
Flamboyant Gamines
(A combination of opposites, with added sharp, slender, or straight lines.)

Flamboyant Gamine Example #1: Audrey Hepburn
Audrey Hepburn is often the first person that people bring up when giving examples of flamboyant gamines, probably because she’s a style icon! If you’re a flamboyant gamine, I highly recommend checking out some of Audrey Hepburn’s best looks.

Flamboyant Gamine Example #2: Jennie
BlackPink member Jennie is a great source of style inspiration for any flamboyant gamines looking for some modern or casual outfit ideas!

Flamboyant Gamine Example #3: Tessa Thompson
I think that Tessa Thompson is a flamboyant gamine, because she has a lot of mixture of opposites, as well as a slightly sharper and boxier silhouette overall. She seems to be suited by flamboyant gamine lines.

Flamboyant Gamine Example #4: Rebel Wilson
Rebel Wilson is definitely a member of the gamine family, and I think that her extra sharpness really comes out in her facial features and bones. As you can see, her cheeks still pretty taut, as she has a lot of cheekbone definition.

Just FYI, David said not long ago that Rachel McAdams isn’t TR! He didn’t type her, but most now theorise she’s DC.
Other than that, great post! I love how diverse your examples are, sadly David’s list of verified celebrities is very white and very slim

Oh I had no idea about Rachel McAdams! But I can see why DC is a common theory for her. Thanks for letting me know ❤
Thanks, I really wanted to get a diverse selection of examples for the body types. You can find diverse lists if you really go searching for them, but I wanted to create an easy to access resource for people who are new to the body types.

I wonder why there is an opinion that Rihanna is not TR because of her height but nobody talks about Beyoce They are reported to be similar height

Hmm I’m not sure to be honest. They are reported to be the same height, but I guess because Beyonce looks like she’s a bit shorter, she kind of flies under the radar. But Beyonce does look absolutely stunning in R clothes, and I really like the way Rihanna looks in TR clothing too.
